Bear with me...
In the movie, Bill and Ted are failing history. If they don't pass, their band, Wyld Stallyns, will be no more, and consequently they will not be able to write the music that will change and unite the world. A visitor from the future, utopian world travels back in time in order to make sure Bill and Ted don't fail. He lends them his time booth (a telephone booth), and they end up travelling through time collecting actual famous characters from history who end up participating in Bill and Ted's final report. They pass, San Dimas is rocking, and everything ends well.
First, let me get out of the way that there is no time travel in my story. Repeat, no time travel. Time cannot run backward, only forward. It is a real thing and cannot be undone. If that were possible, we could have been spared quite a significant amount of heartache and already been on a better part of the journey than we are now.
But, like Bill and Ted, we are failing history. History is THE problem. Our stories have become confounded and we have lost both actual knowledge as to who we are and why we are here, as well as any sure way (currently) in regaining that knowledge. We sit in darkness because we have lost our stories, our connection to true history.
We don't need to remain this way, however, as means such as the Sawtooth Stone have been prepared to remedy this. I view this Stone performing its function in, surprisingly, a somewhat analogous way to that of Bill and Ted's telephone booth. I actually thought it was funny that it was a telephone booth, as I view one of the primary functions of the Stone to establish a link of communication between Heaven and Earth in establishing the unified Story.
Just as it was in the movie, this Stone/ Telephone Booth will be the means of both learning true history as well as gathering in characters and Beings that have been part of the very Story it is telling.
However, it will not be through time travel (which, again, is not an element/ something possible in my story). There will actually be no need to go back in time to gather these Beings because they will already be here on this earth, in the flesh, and in the present.
Reincarnated Great Ones, those of the Holy Order, and all manner of Beings, including 'Israel', who have participated in the Great Drama of this Earth are scattered across all nations and people right now, and they don't know who they are. It is as Nephi-Hyrum-Merry saw in his vision - the saints and the covenant people scattered and without power. Power in this sense being at least partially synonymous with knowledge - they and we are all in the same boat... lacking knowledge, and thus lacking power. But, just as Nephi also saw, these Beings will have the power of heaven descend upon them. I believe the Stone, the story on it, as well as other stories that will join with it, will be the means of providing this power.
These Beings will receive this story and they will love it. They will now have a true knowledge of history, but not only history in the general sense, but their own unique story in that larger tale. They will once again come to know themselves and those around them, and scales of darkness will fall from their eyes.
They will have actually participated in and witnessed the events they will read, and will thus be able to provide their firsthand witness and account to the overall story in general, as well as the greatness of Jesus and his redemptive plan, specifically. So, just as Socrates, Joan of Arc, etc. stood on the stage in San Dimas and told the people their own first hand account, so too will Beings give us their stories and witness.
Many other Beings will in turn believe the story they are being told, and choose to join in with the side of Good themselves and start or re-continue their own good tales, being now freed from the prison and darkness of our current condition.
Others, however, will fight against these Beings and their story, just as Nephi also saw. Why will they fight against it? Because the Stories and these Beings will also witness to wicked deeds done by wicked people. They will be exposed, and they will also gather together to try and 'fight' against this story and its storytellers (perhaps represented in Bill and Ted's story when all of the historical figures were placed in jail). In what form this fighting takes, I don't know. In any case, at this point, I think you have the 'great and marvelous work' Nephi spoke of. With so many witnesses and a completely true account of our history that can be shared, if people choose to believe something different, it will really be a willful choice, I think.
Anyway... other than that, be excellent to each other and party on dudes.
